I am following CA since their very beginning and their debut full-length and since I have just lately done one more interview and present song by song their latest effort of Metal Sound pages it was just around a time to seal the door and write a decent review concerning their brand new offering.
Franckensteina Strataemontanus brings nothing radically new in their style, but its a more of a continuous project already started on previous record. And, already I have faced some serious problems with their previous material, but I have to say, at the end of the day, that Franckensteina Strataemontanus is their weakest record done so far. We were somehow exacting some like this and at the end we got the record that sounds as a sort of mixture between some older tunes and newer elements, almost industrial I’ve to admit.
few are the songs that I like on a brand new record. I think that The Necromancer has the potential or Der Vampir von Nurnberg (a cool title for the track), and I think that the closing track is the best one since it involves some very orchestral and marvelous parts, but other than that the rest of the newer material sounds pretty much quite static.
Well, I’ve to say that i strongly fear that we’ve lost good-old CA that has unleashed and written down their first 4 records which were brilliant in one way or another.
