Lunar Shadow comes from Sweden. They have just issued their debut album entitled Far From Light. In fact, Lunar Shadow presents the interesting combination between some melodic death metal and some classic HM. If you are looking for some stuff with old vibes that you shoudl surly dig this one out!

As a matter of fact you have a new record Far From Light so tell us something about the newer record? Could you present it from your point of view?

“Far From Light” is an album about death.

A journey afar from everything that is good and true, away from light and hope.

Please, also could you present the band Lunar Shadow to our readers since this is the very first time that we have a chance to have an interview with you?

We play epic and melancholic Heavy Metal. No bullshit. Proudly regressive. No triggered drums, no weak spandex-rip offs. No fake NwoBHM-Worship. Against the world and against life.

How would you like to describe your style of playing? Tell us something about your influences as well.

My main influences are the old In Flames and other similar sounding bands like Unanimated, Gates of Ishtar or At The Gates. Dissection are very important too, just as old Manowar, Wishbone Ash and Blue Öyster Cult.

Could you tell us something about previous full-lengths of Lunar Shadow?

We released a four-track EP called “Triumphator” in 2015, which then became Demo of the Month in Rock Hard magazine. We then did several shows with bands like Jag Panzer, Atlantean Kodex, Jex Thoth, Argus or Metal Inquisitor.

Since this is your debut full-lengthrecord could you compare your new record with your previous EP from 2105?

We took much more time, all the small details are much more visible and audible and the difference can be heard clearly. Also the songs have become more complex, longer in time and different in shape.

When it comes to Lunar Shadow do you have any live shows in mind soon? Are you active actually when it comes to live performances?

We only play few, carefully chosen live shows. I only want to play with bands that I personally like, I am not interested in touring or anything. We will do some festivals in Germany this year, that will be it probably.

What is the next step for Luna Shadow since you have just released your debut album?

I am working on our second album recently.
