Wacken 2015 Report

11825836_1141740055844396_447773257501740014_nThis was our 4th time At W:O:A. Aside of the weather which was indeed disastrous the festival from the music side has went quite good (2015 in all has become quite known for weird cold or hot weather conditions). There were lots of bands that were awesome and lots of events that we needed to cover. There were so many events that I still need to take a look at running order list to remember everything that was going out there. And, of course, there are lots of happenings at Wacken which are not stricly linked with the music-side.

As a matter of fact I had some favorites on three main stages + wet stages always has few more acts to offer. Of course, some of the leading shows were the most important ones like Judas Priest (brilliant as always) or Savatage or TSO show (it was such a pleasure to watch them again!), but also there were others as well. For example Amorphis had a great show performing the entire Tales from a Thousand Lakes album as a sort of 20 years anniversary. Also, Cradle of Filth has done quite a good show just after midnight promoting their brand new album Hammer of the Witches. But, in fact, one of the best shows was Samael’s where they did also 20 anniversary of their very important Ceremony of Oppositions studio album. Perhaps, this one was one of my favorite since the atmosphere was very unique. Also, there were some other good ones as well Stratovarious (selected songs from the various part sof their rich career), Falconer (they final show ever). But, also I have to say that I have missed some shows since they were really early which was a pity. Also, I have watched some bands just for a fun like Veird (BM from NOR).

But, of course, when it comes to Wacken it’s not only the music that counts there are lots of happenings around there. And, some of them were indeed great so all in all it was our 4th time that we are at Wacken and we are already looking towards next time since we have already been informed that some big acts like Blind Guardian and Therion will perform as well.
